Laila is a kind and smart girl who lives with her loving mother in a very small and quiet village near a big green forest. Every sunny morning, she likes to wear her beautiful red dress and play happily near the old tall trees. ليلى فتاة لطيفة وذكية تعيش مع والدتها المحبة في قرية صغيرة وهادئة جداً بالقرب من غابة خضراء كبيرة. في كل صباح مشمس، تحب أن ترتدي فستانها الأحمر الجميل وتلعب بسعادة بالقرب من الأشجار القديمة العالية.

One fine day, her mother asks Laila to take a basket of fresh food to her old grandmother who lives alone in a small wooden house deep inside the dark forest. The basket contains bread, cheese, and sweet red fruits for the elderly woman. في أحد الأيام الجميلة، تطلب والدة ليلى منها أن تأخذ سلة من الطعام الطازج إلى جدتها العجوز التي تعيش بمفردها في منزل خشبي صغير في عمق الغابة المظلمة. تحتوي السلة على خبز وجبن وفواكه حمراء حلوة للمرأة المسنة.

Her mother gives her clear advice in a warm voice before the long trip, telling her not to talk to any strange animals on the road. The air smells very fresh and clean while she enjoys the beautiful sounds and the soft light between the green leaves of the old trees. تمشي ليلى ببطء في الغابة العميقة وترى العديد من الأزهار الملونة والطيور الصغيرة تغني أغاني جميلة على الأغصان العالية. الهواء رائحته منعشة ونظيفة جداً بينما تستمتع بالأصوات الجميلة والضوء الناعم بين الأوراق الخضراء للأشجار القديمة.

Suddenly, a big gray wolf with sharp teeth and large bright eyes appears from behind a thick bush. The wolf looks at the basket with greedy eyes and asks Laila in a fake friendly voice where she is going on this quiet day with the heavy food. فجأة، يظهر ذئب رمادي كبير بأسنان حادة وعيون كبيرة لامعة من خلف شجيرة كثيفة. ينظر الذئب إلى السلة بعيون جشعة ويسأل ليلى بصوت ودود مزيف إلى أين تذهب في هذا اليوم الهادئ حاملة الطعام الثقيل.

Laila forgets her mother's strong warning for a short moment and politely tells the dangerous wolf that she is going to visit her sick grandmother. The clever wolf hears the words and makes a quick and evil plan to run fast and reach the grandmother's house before the innocent girl arrives. The poor grandmother opens the wooden door slowly because she truly believes the voice is her sweet granddaughter. The hungry wolf enters quickly with a loud roar, scares the old woman, and locks her carefully inside a big dark closet before she can even make a single loud cry. تفتح الجدة المسكينة الباب الخشبي ببطء لأنها تصدق حقاً أن الصوت هو حفيدتها الحلوة. يدخل الذئب الجائع بسرعة مع زئير عالٍ، ويخيف المرأة العجوز، ويحبسها بحذر داخل خزانة كبيرة مظلمة قبل أن تستطيع حتى إطلاق صرخة عالية واحدة.

The bad wolf quickly wears the grandmother's old white nightgown and her small round glasses, and then he jumps carefully into the warm soft bed.
